Waste-free Lunches

I love receiving photos of my friends’ children on their first day of school; all decked out in their new school outfits, with their brand new lunch boxes in hand.

Going to school.  Learning.  That’s all about Everyday Sustainable.
But NOT all those little kid-sized packaged foods and plastic ziploc bags.

Here’s a resource to pack Waste-Free Lunches: http://www.wastefreelunches.org/
.
It gives simple to-do’s, success stories and even calculates a $246.60 annual savings per student! The site is sponsored by a company that makes lunch kits (Laptop Lunches); but the tips can be used with any kind of container.

Seems like adults can pack waste-free lunches, too.
